Tenth studio album from Hoboken, NJ's Yo La Tengo. Summer Sun was originally released in 2003, three years after the groundbreaking And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out. The album saw the band move further away from the guitar pop of their earlier releases towards a sound that has become their own. The tones are hushed and mellow, with traces of Krautrock, jazz and post rock evident throughout the record. There are plenty of beautiful moments, like opener "Beach Party Tonight," and the meditative drone of "Nothing But You And Me." Out of print since its original release, the album is now back in print. Thirteen tracks in all. Released by Matador on double vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with a digital download.
