I love watching the birds outside my kitchen windows. I have several cardinals that visit every day. This painting was done from them sitting in a tree after a snow. I thought it would be nice to have both male and female. I decided to paint them on separate pieces of paper but frame them together, then I extended some of the branches and leaves onto the mat.
