P-47 Thunderbolt Wood Triptych
ONE OF WORLD WAR II'S most famous fighter planes---the P47 Republic Thunderbolt---breaks from dark clouds in this very impressive wood triptych that’s exclusive to A Simpler Time. Produced on the rough sides of solid wood boards that have been combined into three panels, our nearly eight foot wide (90 inch) version shown makes a very impressive statement. Almost 16,000 P47’s were produced between 1941 and 1945, and the large fighter plane soon gained a reputation as a fast, heavily armed warrior that could take a lot of punishment and still fly. This Thunderbolt image has been designed in house and reproduced right here in the USA on the rough, grain side of the wood panels, which gives a three-dimensional, vintage effect hard to capture in photography. As impressive as the front of the art is, the back---reinforced with thick “z” shaped barn door type construction to prevent warping over time and then stained---is almost too nice to face the wall! Available in three sizes (90”, 55”,
