Tamiya 25420 Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien (Tony) 1/72 Model Kit
Item No: 25420. This TAMIYA model accurately represents the Imperial Japanese Army's adoption of the Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien in 1943. It stood out among other Japanese aircraft in the Pacific War due to its liquid-cooled Ha-40 engine, slimline fuselage, and long, elegant wing. The Ki-61-Id variant was the most produced, featuring an elongated nose to house cannons and machine guns. With 1,360 units, it was often tasked with intercepting U.S. B29 bombers in the skies above Japan's home islands. This exclusive edition features matte silver color plated molded parts, accurately reflecting the exposed duralumin found on planes like those of the 244th Air Group (included as Option B in this kit). Camouflage decals now come included, eliminating the need for separate purchase.
