When MGB first switched to alternators in 1968 the original equipment alternator was wired for two plugs, one with 2 wires and one with 3 wires for a total of 5 wires. Available replacement alternators are wired for a 3 wire plug. This kit is required for 3 terminal alternators replacing originals 5 terminal on 1968 - 71 cars. You basically need only 2 wires, Brown to starter/battery lug, and Brown/Yellow to ignition light on dash. Complete instructions included with the kit.
