Delta Air Lines, the launch customer for the 767-400ER, placed an order for 21 of the airplanes in 1997. The first 767-400ER was delivered to Delta on August 11, 2000 and on October 1, the airline put its first 767-400ER into revenue service on a flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Ft.
