Beginning December 31, 1969, a total of 19 new 747-100s were delivered to TWA from Boeing. In February 1970, TWA became the first airline to fly the Boeing 747 on a U.S. domestic route, the New York-to-Los Angeles route. This model represents ship N93101 in its original delivery colors. It was the first 747-100 ordered by TWA and the 5th built by Boeing. It had its first flight on July 13, 1969, however, it was not delivered to TWA until August 18, 1970. The "Double Globe" livery was the current TWA livery from 1964 to 1975. The 747-100 entered commercial service in 1970.
