It’s not every day you hear about a young domaine in Burgundy whose wines have, relatively quickly, reached the acclaim of the area’s most historic producers. Bernard Bonin has been in operation for fewer than 30 years, and their biodynamic wines have achieved elite status alongside those of Coche Dury and Domaine Roulot. Véronique Bernard and her husband, Nicolas Bonin have developed with a cult-like following for their biodynamic artisinal and terroir-driven wines from sites in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, since the domaines founding in 1998. Veronique took over the winery formerly known as Michelot Mère et Fille, including six hectares from her parents (Her father was the owner of Domaine Michelot). Another 2 hectares were added through a gift from her Aunt. The domaine is dedicated almost exclusively to Chardonnay and all the fruit is harvested by hand.
