A new wine for us, this blend is replacing The Vicar, which had a solid 10 year run, but once we lost the old-vine Mourvedre component that gave The Vicar its soul, we felt it best to retire that wine altogether. This glorious expression of Co-fermented Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah is bold, concentrated and exotic.  As usual we believe that this classic combination of grape varieties are best enjoyed when they are not smothered in new oak flavors and weighed down with excessive alcohol. These two exceptional mountain sites give this wine its complexity and concentration. 65% Alder Springs Vineyard 35% Halcon Vineyard 100% Whole Cluster 40% Grenache 40% Mourvedre 20% Syrah Aged in Concrete and neutral French Oak 500L Puncheons Free SO2 – 20ppm 3.8 pH 13.5% Alc By Vol Tasting Note: Floral and effusive this vibrant purple beast is layered and exotic and loaded to the brim with lavender, herbs, flowers and fruit.  Dense and concentrated but not thick and syrupy.
