ADVENT CHALK DRAWING In the Waldorf tradition, families use nature tables to create stories and a connection to nature. These stories often revolve around such themes as festivals, seasons, holidays, nature stories, fairy tales, lesson units and more.  A Waldorf Advent table is many of these as it’s a festive seasonal holiday celebration which can incorporate nature, gratitude and family values. The table you create each week of advent is a different story and has the personal touch of each family, which makes it special and unique. In Waldorf families, each week of advent uses gratitude to celebrate the different realms of nature: stones and minerals, plants, animals, and people.  There are many versions of the Waldorf Advent Verse. Many Waldorf families stick to the original Four Lights of Advent attributed to Rudolf Steiner and many more put their own personal twist on the verse.
