About this Image: Doc’s oldest daughter was his business partner for 13 years, and she once asked him why he didn’t have an image of a person with the Savior which depicts an earlier spiritual milestone than a mission, such as a baptism. From that inquiry, Boy at the Font and Girl at the Font came to be. Doc used his grandson, his daughter’s oldest boy, as the model for Boy at the Font. Doc and his daughter both felt it was important for members of the Church of all ages to remember that the Savior can be with them throughout their lives. About the Artist: DOC O. CHRISTENSEN was raised on a dairy farm in Merced, California, where he spent a lot of time learning to draw. At a young age, his mother soon introduced him to oil painting. Later on in life, he gained experience as a technical illustrator. Both accuracy and beauty are apparent in each of his works, his best known being The Portrait of the Prophets.
