1988 Pirelli Tires Pirelli Tires and Ferrari, two prestigious brands in the automotive world, have been lighting the racetrack on fire side by side since the very beginning of motorsport. The Milanese tire company was founded by Leopoldo Pirelli in 1872, and his tires quickly earned the nickname 'victory tires'. With a focus on racing over building road cars, Enzo Ferrari decided early on that it was only right that every stallion in the Scuderia had Pirelli shoes — from his earliest racing cars right on down the line to the drop-dead  gorgeous Ferrari F40, a poster car if there ever was one.
