Imperial Russian WW1 Soldier's Button

  History of the Artifact Now available to you, the original uniform buttons that were once sown onto the World War 1 uniform of a regular soldier of the Tsarist Imperial Russian Army (Rússkaya imperátorskaya ármiya).  These beautiful buttons are decorated with the Imperial Tsarist Coat of Arms displaying the two-headed eagle and the mounted figure of St. George figure slaying the dragon - patron Saint of Moscow and Russia.  Russia entered the Great War with the largest army in the world at the time (1914) with 1,400,000 fully mobilized soldiers swelling its ranks. The Russian army engaged in brutal combat against the German empire at infamous battle such as Tannenberg and Galicia with most taking place over modern day Poland, Hungary and Ukraine.
