  History of the Artifact Now available to you, the original uniform buttons that were once sown onto the World War 1 uniform of a regular soldier of the Tsarist Imperial Russian Army (Rússkaya imperátorskaya ármiya).  These beautiful buttons are decorated with the Imperial Tsarist Coat of Arms displaying the two-headed eagle and the mounted figure of St. George figure slaying the dragon - patron Saint of Moscow and Russia.  Russia entered the Great War with the largest army in the world at the time (1914) with 1,400,000 fully mobilized soldiers swelling its ranks.
