Midwest Tough Native Plant Mug 11oz, Support the Environment with Native Plants. Celebrate Your Garden's Natural Strength. Thrive!
If you ever want to run down a wonderful wormhole, go ahead and do what I did: Research the wild flowers of our native lands of the United States. This project was a joy. There are so many more flowers that still deserve representation! Essentially there are certain plants indigenous to certain areas. Let's take the Virginia bluebells. Obviously they originated from Virginia even if they've adapted to your own backyard in a different state. Native plants have evolved alongside our insects, creating a symbiotic relationship. They bloom and provide nutrition to our pollinators at exactly the right time. More native plants means more strength and endurance for our ecosystems. The plants listed in this midwest design are: Coneflower, two kinds of hyssop which is an absolute must for any garden, rattlesnake master, wild bergamot, common milkweed, Monarch butterflies, rudbeckia, geum, hoary vervain, culver's root, and a tiger lily on the side for the extra space I had on the mugs.
