Ignition Switch is a replacement 6 wire unit for 1971 Beetles, Super Beetles and Karmann Ghias. It also fits 1971 through early 1974 Type 2 Bus models (through VIN 2*42164059) and Early 1973 Things (through VIN 1832346315). The grey wire on the switch is not needed. The brown wire would have been for the door buzzer and is not typically hooked up either. We cut the two wires off at the switch 1971 Beetle & Karmann Ghia - 1971-74 Type 2 Bus
