The pattern is called "The Beauties of China", known as "flow black ironstone", with a design very similar to other willow patterns, it includes a Chinese pagoda, willow trees, a wooden bridge with people crossing, and mountains. The rectangular platter has a very intricate border design with swirls and flowers, all in black which gives it a lovely, elegant, very romantic look. The platter is stamped with an incised mark: "Ironstone" in a semicircle.
