Antique c.1790-1800 2 French Portrait Miniature Sisters in Superb 18k Gold Locket Frame 2.5" Plus Bale
A gold test affirms the pristine large locket type frame to be 18k gold. I would expect to find a French gold mark, tiny as they are, but it might be on the inner lip of this oyster-shaped double-sided old treasure, and it's not wanting to easily separate to open for me for additional exploration of the pendant, nor to allow more clear photos of these 2 magnificent portraits. I hesitate to pry, not wanting to leave a mark on the gold. It is sometimes the case we have a signature tiny and on the outer rim of these paintings, out of view when in their mountings, or perhaps a tissue within giving us ID or more information about the sitters. You know it's awfully tempting for me to look inside, but I will leave that to the next owner of this magnificent set. You have 2 sisters, or perhaps they're best friends.
