Antique French Large Floor Stand, Frame to do Embroidery, Needlework, Stretch Canvas
A beautiful piece of lathe turned walnut furniture, a lady's sewing tool for needlework or embroidery, or quilting, this is the floor stand size made for larger work use, a stretcher to hold the fabric or canvas tight so needlework can be worked beautifully. Entirely made of solid wood (though base/feet portions may be veneered, appearing to be walnut with a wonderful, warm aged patina or finish. Two butterfly wing nuts to tighten the angle of the frame, the longer ones used to anchor the cross bar at the base. It comes apart into small bundle for storage or for shipment, and assembles quickly when one wishes to put it to use. This one found with a newer needlepoint work in progress attached to cross bars and we'll include it (the older needlepoint shown in some pictures is not included, sold separately). A beautiful finish and wood, it's pretty when out and in use, as well - like fine French furniture. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, it is the type used from 1700
