Large Opulent Antique French 19th Century Tortoise Shell Calling Card Case, Purse
My own collections being disbursed, this is a near-pristine calling card case I've had for decades. I've used it with my own business cards, a credit card and a car key tucked inside back when I worked for Paramount, Inc., to after hours events and dinners - a hand held clutch or evening purse of sorts. It is a spectacular example of the cognac to chocolate mottled antique tortoise shell which has always been my favorite, blond shell aside, and it is without bites, chips, cracks or losses. The inner lip is ivory. The lining is the old original emerald green moire silk with paper baffled and separated sections. Opening it fans out the contents. One might wish to use it on desktop as a holder for your business cards. Full measurements noted on the photos, it's larger than most antique card cases, and will easily store your modern business cards, credit cards. Very good to excellent condition throughout.
