Domaine Saint Préfert - Côtes du Rhône – “Clos Beatus Ille” Rouge 2018

85% Grenache and 15% Cinsault   Isabel Ferrando, owner & winemaker at Saint-Préfert, has long been known as a trailblazer. This wines comes from the La Lionne vineyard (lieux-dit), in the Sorgues district.   This is a lush, intense wine, dense with rich cherry fruit flavors complemented by hints of garrigue spice.  The wine finishes with supple round tannins.  This is a crowd-pleasing wine, that greatly exceeds what one would normally expect from an entry-level Côtes du Rhône.
