2023 Saint-Joseph Red "Emisphere", Domaine Boissonnet

Producer: Domaine Boissonnet Wine: 2023 Saint-Joseph "Emisphere" Red Varietal: 100% Syrah.  The Saint Joseph rouge de Boissonnet is the result of a blend of two, particularly distinct and complementary terroirs. The vines on the highlands of Serrières are balanced with the Syrah on the granite slopes of Saint Désirat. The latter are marked by maturity and beautiful southwest exposure. Harvesting: By hand with a partial destemming at 80%. Vinification:  Alcohol fermentation in thermo-regulated vats (28-33°). Vatting period of 15 to 21 days with moderate cap-punching and pumping-over. 35 to 40 hl/ha with maturing in barrels for 15 months.  Tasting Notes: Deep red color with violet reflections, signaling its youth and concentration. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and blueberry, with floral hints of violet.
