Disposal and Disinfection of Contaminated Materials

This program is a microlearning. A microlearning is typically 1-2 minutes in length and quickly conveys information about a specific topic or subset of a larger topic. In order to prevent the spread of diseases caused by contaminated blood or bodily fluids, OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard requires organizations to develop an Exposure Control Plan. A major component of this plan is training on the control measures employees should follow to minimize the risk of exposure to potentially infectious materials. As part of this training, this program provides an overview of the procedures to follow when disposing of and disinfecting contaminated materials.
