Edwin, who goes by the nicknames “The Silver Fox” and “The Duke of Flatbush” was professionally known for playing center fielder. He hit a total of 407 homeruns and 1,333 runs batted. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers - 1947 to 1957, Los Angeles Dodgers - 1958 to 1962, New York Mets - 1963 and the San Francisco Giants - 1964. He was well-liked by many and today ranks among the best inductees into the hall of fame.
