Colen Campbell's crisp, stark illustrations highlight the Neo-Palladian aesthetic, which turned away from the opulent Baroque and found inspiration in classical art. Originally published in Vitruvius Britannicus between 1715-1725. The vast scale and straight flow of the buildings depicted are reflected in large panoramic prints, which also enable the observer to appreciate all the original's finer features.
