Alissa McKendrick’s enigmatic, semi-narrative scenes depict female figures against fields awash with emotive color and wispy details. Her subjects hover between the whimsical and the macabre, with a lightness of form and color that merge dreams with nightmares. Her painterly touch and buoyant playfulness bely her vaguely ominous subject matter.
