Lucia Hierro (b. 1987, Washington Heights, NY) is a Dominican American conceptual artist currently based in the South Bronx. Lucia’s practice, which includes sculpture, digital media, and installation, confronts twenty-first century capitalism through an intersectional lens. She received a BFA from SUNY Purchase College (2010) and an MFA from Yale School of Art (2013). Recent solo exhibitions include Marginal Costs at the Aldrich Museum (Ridgefield, CT) and Tal Cual at Charlie James Gallery (Los Angeles, CA). Her works reside in the collections of the MFA Boston, Pérez Art Museum Miami, the JP Morgan & Chase Collection, Progressive Art Collection, and the Rennie collection in Vancouver, among others. “Que no se te olvide! dos limones” is born from Hierro’s multimedia works that explore cultural signification through craft techniques merged with contemporary materials and references.
