With a keen eye for color and place, she transcribes nature and humans within nature, through sensitive motifs captured across an ever-expanding selection of mediums. Exploring mortality, regeneration, spirituality, death and rebirth, Perutz translates the cycles of human experience and our inter-connectivity through hypnotic simplicity and control. Each work in the Duo from Saint-Paul-de-Vence began in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, in the Cote d’Azur in southern France. Perutz renders the warmth and summerlight of the eucalyptus forest in pastel pinks and oranges, soft curves and a vast foreground. Movement through the foreground is compounded by the winding hues, swallowing the line of trees and soft shape rising above.
