"Loose Ends" Squiggle Painting
"Loose Ends" : 11.75"x11.75"x1/4" During the 2020/21 quarantine, I struggled with a lot of anxiety and depression. To help combat them slightly, and to get out some of my frustrations, I started painting what I now consider a physical representation of what my brain felt like, and still does here and there. Lots of disjointed ideas, polka dots, creative endeavors, unfinished tasks, etc. I did this most nights before bed, and it truly helped me. As I write this, I have painted over 40 of these pieces! Each one is a hand drawn continuous squiggle that is digitized and laser cut out of either 1/8" or 1/4" Baltic Birch Plywood. They are painted using high quality acrylic paints and sometimes paint markers. To protect them, they have also been coated in a special UV protective clear coating that is supposed to be satin, but sometimes is glossier than Id want. All depends on the colors and/or brand paint I used. I struggled on how to add hardware to these since I wanted to owner of each pie
