Tangerine by Moti Tavassoli
2025 Acrylic, Oil Pastel and Ink on Paper Board 16" x 20" Moti Tavassoli is a Persian American LA-based artist working in painting, sculpture, and installation with a background in architecture and pattern design. Having grown up in Tehran and LA, Moti belongs to both and neither. Two wildly different cultures, two vast metropolises, and infinite ways to feel without roots, she creates her world of belonging and peace. Filled with natural motifs, these are visual and tactile stories of places where borders dissolve, natural laws bend, and the material world becomes fluid and symbolic. She is an alum of the Ellsworth Artist Residency with Art Share LA. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, and her paintings live in private collections across Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Tucson.
