This is the flagship wine of Cruse Wine Co. It takes its name from an old British sailor song referring to an 1850s style of sailor's jacket. Tapered at the waist and cropped at the midsection, it resembled the decorative jackets worn by organ grinding street monkeys at the time. Monkey Jacket is a field blend that changes with every vintage. This season leads with Validiguie, followed by Carignan, Tanant, Petite Sirah, St. Laurent, and other unknown varieties.
