Jezero Crater, Mars in Oak and Maple
Jezero Crater is a 28-mile diameter Martian crater currently hosting NASA’s Perseverance rover. We don’t often think of water and rivers when contemplating Martian craters, but you’re looking at a breach in the crater wall and the resulting river delta. A knot in the oak was aligned with the breach in the crater wall to create the carving seen here. It is mounted on two pieces of spalted maple, allowing the oaken landscape to remain the focus of the piece. There is a crack that could open up with temperature/humidity changes. This is reflected in the price. Features: CNC Precision: Intricate detail achieved through advanced carving technology. Planetary Art: A unique and captivating representation of the Martian surface. High-Quality Materials: Crafted from rosewood with a custom, solid maple frame. Versatile Display: Can be displayed on a tabletop or hung on a wall (mounting hardware IS included). Dimensions: Length: 13" Width: 10" Height: 2.5"
