I took this one from a boat in Lake Washington.   One of the odd quircks of goegraphy about Lake Washington is that just to the North is the town of Kirkland Washington.  Costco has made famous the name Kirkland by making a household name for countless numbers of people in this country.  Costco's headquarters is also in the Seattle area and they took the name from town.    Also not that far south of the University of Washington is the headquarters of Boeing and even though UPS is headquarted in Atlanta it began in the Seattle.   Then ofcourse in every airport there is a Starbucks which also began in Seattle as well as Amazon.   I found a book on the founding of the town of Seattle and learned that it has always been and probably always will be a town of creativity and business.  The history of Seattle began with two families who risked everything to find a small bay they were told about by a beaver trapper while traveling along the Oregon Trail.    One night a captain of a ship who was
