Hidden Under the Ice

This is an abstract oil and cold-was painting that is reminiscent of an ice-covered lake. The inspiration for this painting was the artist's childhood memories of ice-skating on a nearby pond. I love the transparency, body, and luminosity that the cold wax adds to the oil paint. Various textures can easily be embedded into the paint and multiple layers can be added without waiting for the oil paint to dry.
