Fragments of the Past

This collage was inspired by the artist's recent travels to Berlin and incorporates several images from her photos as well as fragments of family memorabilia associated with Germany. While I love painting with oils and cold wax medium, recently, I have become intrigued with collage and the innumerable ways to express oneself using both hand-painted manufactured papers, photographs, digital images, magazines, fabric and text. Creating engaging compositions and balancing shapes, colors, and textures is an immensely joyful and rewarding process!
