Award-winning actor and director Regina King, art star Mickalene Thomas, and photographer Tatijana Shoan collaborate to create a vibrant cover feature inspired by Thomas’s latest global exhibition, Beyond the Pleasure Principle. This exhibition expands on Thomas’ decades-long exploration of the Black female body as a realm of power, eroticism, agency, and inspiration. Thomas’ singular aesthetic of layered mediums was applied to Shoan’s images of King turning each one into a work of art.
