The treads and risers have a beautiful consistent oak surface which can be stained or varnished to compliment your decor. This kit can be used as is for a closed stringer staircase (ends of treads are hidden by stringers). For an open stringer staircase, use simple tread bullnose cap to easily finish off any exposed edges.
