
Floating in Space
Photographer Gregory U. Jáuregui The moon is Earth's nearest celestial neighbor but visiting it still is an incredibly difficult challenge. One day, I believe humans will establish an infrastructure that will allow us to easily fly to and from lunar bases. In the meantime, enjoy the views that I produce from my telescope. Decorate your home with the moon floating in the dark vastness of outer space! To create this image, I scanned the lunar surface with my telescope and captured 28 different panels. Each panel consists of 1,500 images. This resulted in a final moon mosaic composed of over 40,000 images! Each panel is like a puzzle piece that had to be stitched side to side in post-processing to create this extremely detailed moon.
