Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Blanc 2022 Magnum

This vineyard was once owned by the Chapter (Chapitre in French) of the Autun Collegiate Church. Planted in 1955, this village-level Chardonnay is undoubtedly one of the finest. The majority of Le Chapitre rests on a thick layer of grèzes litées, an accumulation of unconsolidated limestone. The winemaking process includes gentle pressing, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and aging for 12 to 18 months in barrel, with one-third new oak. Minimal sulfur is added only at bottling.
