Colli di Lapio Fiano di Avellino 2024

I hereby declare 2025 as the year of Fiano! Well, at least it will be in my house since I can't get enough of this under-appreciated white wine of the world. Situated 40 or so miles east of Naples at a higher elevation, this gold-standard Fiano is "yikes-good!" as I concluded my handwritten notes. I've been craving a bottle ever since so this weekend, I'll be treated to its wonderful lemony, white peachy fruit playing off white flowers, savory minerals and almonds, its textural richness finishing surprisingly long and succulent. If you're burned out on Premier cru Chablis and/or want a totally wow-wine at a non-wow price, I highly recommend you check this out. You'll be in good company. -Marcus
