Purple Hands Dundee Hills Reserve Pinot Noir 2022

  Cody's Reserve puts meaning back into the word and concept, and it begins not in the cellar but in the vineyard—a prized small block of his Haakon/Lenai estate, old vine Pommard clone. Whereas many a winemaker would beef up their "reserve" in the cellar, Cody fascinatingly does the opposite: he ages it solely in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the site. If I had only looked at the wine's technical data and not tasted it, I might have expected less texture because of the absence of barrel aging but not here; it is remarkably silky in a classic Dundee Hills way.
