Inspired by a chance encounter at La Colombe d'Or in the South of France, the ABOUT A GIRL series of singular paintings evokes the quiet intensity of Jacqueline, a poised and precocious 10-year-old who left an indelible mark on the artist's imagination. Living with her grandmother in a 12th-century cliffside home in Saint-Paul de Vence, Jacqueline moved through the world with an old-soul elegance-always adorned in her mother's pearls, always in the company of her beloved animals, including a goose named Blanche Neige and a Dalmatian with blue eyes. Set against the backdrop of a summer where forest fires cast the sky in luminous shades of orange and violet, this series captures the fleeting magic of childhood-at once tender and enigmatic, steeped in nostalgia and the quiet grandeur of a bygone era.
