This ballast comes with a battery which is specially designed for low temperatures and gives back up time of as high as 90 minutes. The XEB-420-CF-CP model has an emergency mode which is activated during a brownout; this is when the ballast will enable one of the fluorescent tubes to light up for 90 minutes.
