Bat bands require a unique tool that accommodates the lip at the ends of the band, evenly crimps the circular space around the band, and leaves a specific gap to accommodate the wing membrane. Therefore, tolerances and measurements must be precise.  These pliers hold an opened band securely and allow the bander to place and crimp the band with minimal effort while minimizing the potential of wing membrane damage caused by an over-crimped band.  Stop crimping bands with fingers alone; this practice can be inconsistent and at worst could injure the bat unnecessarily over time.
