Learning Forms (Glassblowing 2), 2-day Intensive
Prerequisites: Intro to Glassblowing Glassblowing 2 aims to build on the foundations of Introduction to Glassblowing by developing the students’ knowledge of basic forms. Working exclusively with clear furnace glass, students will learn how to set up and execute the following forms: cylinder, bottle, open cone/funnel, closed cone, and high bowl (time permitting). This class will emphasize planning and deliberate execution (i.e. control of the material). A primary goal of this class is equipping the student with an understanding of the process so that they may dissect new and unfamiliar forms on their personal glass journey. Glassblowing is a team activity, all students will work with each other to achieve these goals. It is highly encouraged that students take notes during class.
