Young  Oat is meant for bunnies a year and older due to the seeds being a bit harder than Mature Oat. 1st Cutting (early Harvest) Younger Oat is mostly green, however, if it is later in the year can change the color to a more brown color - season factors can change this and make younger oat more brown. It is not mature oat when it is brown. It was cut earlier and flavor is same. Young Oat can change to a more brown through the season before the next harvest. Weather issues can also make Young Oat browner. Ever since I started giving this to my bunny Bailey, her sensitive digestive system has improved. She eats more hay than ever!
