(22” x 28”) - Mixed Media: Acrylic Paint, Modeling Plaster, Epoxy Resin, Spray Paint on Canvas Diverge expresses my desire to overcome the two-dimensional limits of the canvas by building up literal and fictional layers as a nuanced way to create depth without the aid of perspective.  Here the idea of contouring is explored using plaster and color gradients to enrich figure-ground relationships that challenge the viewer to focus on the distinct pieces of the composition before evaluating the whole.  Diverge has a bold presence in any room and will shine confidently in a variety of lighting conditions.
