Pre-order now for delivery in April-May!  Baptisia australis 'Solar Flare' Prairieblues Also known as False Indigo, Baptisia is the under-hyped superstar of native gardens. Solar Flare is a hardy perennial that features lush green foliage highlighted by a profusion of tall spikes covered in golden yellow blooms. Expect blooms from late spring to early summer. After the blooming season ends, the flowers turn into round seed pods that sustain the local birds well into the fall. As easy to care for as it is beautiful, Baptisia is not particular when it comes to soil but does prefer to stay on the drier side. While it is a sun lover, Baptisia can tolerate moderate shade and still thrive. Great as a feature in your pollinator garden or mass planted as a border, Baptisia gives gardens the feel of a wildflower meadow. Comes to you in a gallon-sized pot, as shown in photo 4.
