Mammilaria cristata Hailing from the dry arid deserts of Mexico and Central America, the Brain Cactus is named for its unique growth pattern that resembles a brain! Its growth habit is formed from a mutation when the plant in young. Mature specimens will reach only 6" tall and will grow to about 12" wide. Soil can be amended with sand to closer replicate this cacti's natural growing conditions. Keep dry, water only once per week and place in a sunny indoor spot. Arrives to you in a 4" pot as shown in photo 3.
