Expect the purple-blue blooms to last from late spring through late summer, giving lots of garden color. Plant in full sun to part shade for the best color. Average, well-drained garden soil is preferred, but they also do well in clay and sandy soils. Cut back by about one third after flowering to refresh the foliage.
