The End of the Battle aka Unconditional Surrender by Evelyn Waugh [SWORD OF HONOUR #3] U.S. FIRST EDITION / FOURTH PRINTING [1961] LITTLE BROWN & COMPANY Hardcover with dust jacket in good condition. Book itself is excellent; gilded leatherette cover and binding are both pristine.  Pages read like new.  Dust jacket is in acceptable condition.   Heavy chipping to edges; several small sealed tears and one larger one on lower spine [reinforced w. tape on underside.]  Back of DJ has heavy discoloration and hand drawn checkmarks next to the list of titles.    Guy Crouchback has lost his Halberdier idealism. A desk job in London gives him the chance of reconciliation with his former wife. Then, in Yugoslavia, as a liaison officer with the partisans, he finally becomes aware of the futility of a war he once saw in terms of honour.
